Located in the south of Italy, Calabria is the "toe" of the Italian "boot." Given it's vast cultural, historical and natural resources, Calabria remains relatively unknown to foreign travelers. Calabria, in the heart of the Mediterranean, offers, together with Sicily, some of Italy's sunniest weather. The local people are eager to offer a genuine, warm welcome. The cuisine of Calabria is based on simple, tasty dishes. Breakfast is simply coffee with warm milk and a "cornetto." Lunch  and dinner are based on local products, such as eggplant, swordfish, and tomatoes.

A number of places in Calabria are well known to European tourists. These include Scilla, Tropea, Praia a Mare, Serra San Bruno, the Sila Plateau, Stilo, Gerace, Le Castella and Soverato.

Churches, ruins, and museums bear witness to the historic and religious heritage that is still alive in every corner of the region. Each village deserves a visit, since in each you will find something different, from the local dialect , to local recipes, and traditions.Calabria is still an unspoiled destination that preserves its original and genuine character. Treat yourself to an uncommon vacation - come to Calabria!

It appeared that Italy, with thirty million visitors a year, had reached the tourist saturation point. The poor Italians were losing their Italianess. But not in Calabria.”
